Woluchu Wachu is a washing station located in the Guji Zone of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia and was founded in 2017. They serve about 4,500 small farms in the area, each farming one half hectare of land on average. The cherries are delivered to Wolichu Wachu where they are sorted, de-pulped, and fermented before being dried on raised beds. This particular lot is a Grade 1 (the highest grade available in Ethiopia) and is also classified as a Special Prep, meaning even more care was taken in all stages of the process to remove any defective or irregular beans. This is a wonderful example of a washed Ethiopia coffee with notes of jasmine flower, clementines, and green apple.
