Kiryama Washing Station // Burundi
Regular price $17.50
Coffees from Burundi have always been among our favorites here at Gaslight, but the challenge of bringing in more range from logistical issues at origin, inconsistent weather and harvest, and the geopolitical quandaries of its immediate region. The coffees tend to be bright, complex, and rich with velvety-smooth bodies, and this one fits that description perfectly. The Kiryama Washing Station Cooperative is located in the town of Butaganzwa located in Kayanza where about 1,150 small-scale farmers bring their coffees directly to the washing station, and an additional 3,300 deliver to one of five collection points in the area. We love this coffee as an espresso but also find this coffee to be versatile on filter with flavor notes of grapefruit, toasted marshmallow, and chamomile blossoms.
